Down In The Cellar This is where it all began in 1975 — a restaurant that you descended into from the street level of the Cumberland Avenue “Strip.” It was named for a beautiful bar wrought from copper. The first cappuccino machine in Knoxville was ordered from Italy, giving the Cellar a distinctive flavor right from the start.
Down in the Cellar, the rich ambience of walnut, copper, and leather still make an impression and create the setting for premium steaks and seafood and special recipes refined over 40 years. Decades of memories of engagements, Valentine’s Days, anniversaries and special celebrations are just part of the woodwork of this classic Knoxville restaurant.
